OUR HISTORY
The Youth Choral Theater of Chicago, originally known as Jubilate Choir, was founded in 1985 by local music educators Nancy Thoren and Chris McQueen. In 2001, celebrated choral composer and arranger Paul Caldwell was named the Artistic Director of Jubilate Choir and led the organization through many years of success and growth. Under Caldwell's leadership, Jubilate Choir became the Youth Choral Theater of Chicago as we know it today. In 2016, leadership passed to Amy J. Branahl, who led the organization through many years of growth. In 2023, leadership passed to current Executive & Artistic Director Andrew M. Wallace, who continues to guide YCT into the future, bringing excellence in choral music to the children of the North Shore.
