Audition Information:
We welcome boys and girls from kindergarten (age 5) through high school (grade 12) to audition for the Youth Choral Theater ensembles. Auditions are held throughout the season (September-May) by appointment.
Criteria for admission include:
- keen listening skills
- the ability to sing on pitch
- but most importantly: a genuine enthusiasm for singing!
Auditions are age-appropriate and child-friendly. No musical material need be prepared ahead of time.

The Youth Choral Theater of Chicago is comprised of children from all social, economic and ethnic backgrounds. Tuition for the year is applied toward the training and education members receive. Financial assistance is available.
Once enrolled, singers are placed in one of the following four levels:
Concertina (grades K-2) – Come sing with us! An interest in singing is all any child needs. This introductory choir is a vocal readiness and music exploratory program, perfect for any beginning singer.

Glenview Children's Chorus (grades K-3) – Just like the Concertina class in Wilmette, this introductory choir is a vocal
readiness and music exploratory program, perfect for any beginning singer.

Treble Ensemble (grades 3-4) – Ideal for the motivated young singer, this intermediate training choir prepares singers for membership in more advanced ensembles.

Concert Choir (grades 5-7) – A Tour de Voice! One of the Youth Choral Theater’s most advanced ensembles, an introduction to professional-level performance opportunities.

Chamber Chorale (grades 8-12) – The best of the best! The Youth Choral Theater’s flagship performing choir is the musical pinnacle toward which our younger students strive. This choir enrolls our most experienced and purposeful singers, primarily those in high school.
